A Call for Voices & Artists

Hause of Xroads is building a living archive of stories, traditions, artwork, and memories that deserve to be remembered.

We are seeking writers, griots, historians, poets, researchers, artists, and storytellers whose work carries the spirit of cultural memory and lived experience.

Across generations, so much knowledge has been passed quietly through families, communities, oral traditions, and creative expression. These are the voices and visions we hope to preserve.

If you carry a story, a piece of history, a poem, a work of art, a tradition, or a truth that deserves to be remembered, we invite you to share it with us.

Your work may become part of our growing digital archive and may be considered for publication in our future magazine.

At the crossroads, every voice carries a story. If yours is meant to be heard, we welcome it here.

Contributors may submit work under one of the following categories:

Forgotten Diaspora History

Research, essays, and historical narratives that recover overlooked or erased histories across the African diaspora. Submissions should include verifiable sources when possible.

Cultural Traditions & Folklore

Stories and research exploring traditions, beliefs, folklore, rituals, and community practices passed through generations.

Spiritual Poetry
Poetry that reflects spiritual reflection, ancestral memory, ritual, faith traditions, or personal encounters with the sacred.

Real Life Ghost Stories
True encounters with the unseen. Family stories, ancestral visitations, haunted places, and experiences that reflect the spiritual and supernatural traditions within our communities.

Voices of the Griot
Oral history style storytelling, personal narratives, cultural memory, and reflections that carry the voice of the storyteller and the wisdom of lived experience.

Visual Voices

Artwork that carries cultural memory through visual storytelling. This category welcomes paintings, illustrations, photography, and mixed media that reflect folklore, ancestral traditions, spiritual symbolism, diaspora history, and community narratives. These works honor the artist as a visual storyteller, preserving culture, memory, and lived experience through image and form.
